A digital devil d-d-dancing with the dead
You cannot ignore them howling a haunting requiem.
It won’t let them rest but t-t-taunt and torture us instead.
Like a mockingbird in an aquarium it will not bury them
A platform of survival to save us all
One last hope
A revival free of form.
Don’t cry...
Open the envelope
Now shelter the seed from the sun and the rain
Nothing can grow in this hurricane
Must we relinquish our control?
I wonder... what will it take to extinguish your soul?
Even though you haven’t the control to choose
If you gamble with yourself you’re bound to lose
Blaming the dealer won’t go well
When you’re tossing coins outside the gates of hell
Only a child struggles when it’s defenceless
I’m drowning. Have I lost my independence?
The radios gone silent. Isolation is bearing down on me
We’re marooned under the sea
Like a message in a bottle we’re floating hopefully
We cannot sow that which we have grown and naively reaped
Hopelessly we remain on the ocean floor
We weep. We weep. We weep. We weep.
Where is the purpose in sleep if you can’t wake up?
Where is the purpose in life without death?
Does a caterpillar fear it’s slumber?
Does a butterfly remember it’s cocoon?
It doesn't matter how deep we are.
It doesn’t matter what it consumes.
In the darkness we will witness.
There will always be a light above the abyss.
There will always be a life beyond this.
